  • Boatwright's Dining Hall

    love this place on 8/25/2005

I love this resort, Boatwrights do a great breakfast, their omelettes are to die for. The Fried Mozzarella is great too.

  • Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

Stayed at Carribean Beach in Nov 1995 on 4/3/2003

When my husband and I stayed at the Carribean Beach Resort back in November 1995, we found it to be nice--but basically a hotel room. It was about the size of an average hotel room so dont expect more. The furnishings were a bit nicer than average, but I personally dont care too much about that unless they are outstanding, which these werent.

The pool areas and such were nice. The only problem is that it all seemed really really big, so walking from one place to the other after a long day at the parks was tiring. My mother-in-law who stayed there too, has MS and it was very tough for her. She can walk, but it tires her out and there werent resting spots inbetween (unlike at the parks) She went back a few years later and stayed at the Wilderness Lodge because it was easier to get around.

There were no "Value Resorts" at the time (these were the lower end resorts then). Im checking those out this time (May 2003) when we take our three children for the first time. The price was about $500 cheaper for three nights at the All Star Movies. Ill let you know if I wish Id had spent the extra $500 for Carribean Beach or not.

  • The Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace Birthdays on 4/1/2003

Definately be sure to mention if you (or a member of your group) will be celebrating a birthday at the time you make your priority seating arrangements.

My daughter will be turning five while we visit in May and the gentleman on the telephone made a point of asking how old my daughter will be on the morning we eat at the Crystal Palace and exactly how she spells he name. He told me that shell be receiving extra special magic treatment at our Character Breakfast complete with a cupcake (breakfast cupcake? Of course! It IS the Magic Kingdom!)and a personalized and signed card for her. One of the characters is supposed to deliver her cupcake and card. This will be her first taste ; ) of WDW and the Magic Kingdom. Its always special, but they have made plans all day to make it extra special. And all of it was just because I asked. No special packages or charges---just because they want her to never forget her day.

  • Cinderella's Royal Table

1977--I was seven and it was amazing! on 4/1/2003

I know that this review is based on a LONG ago experience--but my point is that if you take your children to Cinderellas Royal Table (I just called it "Cinderellas Castle" back then) they will never ever forget the magic.

I was thrilled to see the photographs and note that it looks just about the same as it did back in 1977. The magical touches (the suits of armor, stained glass windows, etc...) are all there. It was wonderful back then---atmosphere was an A+!

I remember very, very heavy pewter goblets with ice water in them back then (I dont know if they still exist) but the comfortable formality is still present. And the food was quite good too, to my parents and my brother and myself.

Disney has a commercial that says "When you are four years old, Walt Disney World isnt just a place--its REAL". I can say that all my times there as a young child (grandparents lived nearby so we were there often) were exactly that--REAL. And never to be forgotten.

By the way--my younger brother (3 when we ate first at Cinderellas Castle) was also so impressed with the place that it was one of his "MUST SEE" stops when he took his son to WDW for the first time this past August. So, dont get the idea that Cinderellas Royal Table is just for the Princess loving set--the boys love it too!

  • Restaurant Marrakesh

    Dinner in Morroco on 5/29/2002

My daughter and I ate at Marrakesh this past April 2002. We had just gotten in from an all flight from the West Coast and it was a wonderful way to spend a relaxing, first night, evening. The food was outstanding and my daughter wants to go back again. Her favorite was the appetizer that was like a fried meat egg roll sprinkeled with powdered sugar and cinammon. We didnt have reservations but since there were only two of us it was easy to accomodate us.
