Stayed at Carribean Beach in Nov 1995 on 4/3/2003When my husband and I stayed at the Carribean Beach Resort back in November 1995, we found it to be nice--but basically a hotel room. It was about the size of an average hotel room so dont expect more. The furnishings were a bit nicer than average, but I personally dont care too much about that unless they are outstanding, which these werent.
The pool areas and such were nice. The only problem is that it all seemed really really big, so walking from one place to the other after a long day at the parks was tiring. My mother-in-law who stayed there too, has MS and it was very tough for her. She can walk, but it tires her out and there werent resting spots inbetween (unlike at the parks) She went back a few years later and stayed at the Wilderness Lodge because it was easier to get around.
There were no "Value Resorts" at the time (these were the lower end resorts then). Im checking those out this time (May 2003) when we take our three children for the first time. The price was about $500 cheaper for three nights at the All Star Movies. Ill let you know if I wish Id had spent the extra $500 for Carribean Beach or not.
