if you are posting a pic in your signature here is the way you need to type in the new code...
NO HTML codes pleeeaase!!

ok where as you were used to the whole img src code...here is the proper way to use the PGD coding.

we use the squared parenthesis [ ] and not the arrows < >

you will need to insert your own address which you can get from right clicking on an image and choosing properties.
You will type ONLY what is in bold print. I couldn' t type it all out as needed or the image would have shown up instead of the coding.

the address listed is for one of my own images...you will need to obtain the address for the image you want to use.

type

If you want to upload a pic you have saved on your hard disk...start or reply to a post...type test (or whatever) in the text box and then at the bottom of the post there is the option to upload a picture...click on that...
and a small box will pop up...
click on browse and locate the pic on your computer and double click on it..
then hit ok..
it will tell you if the image upload was succesful or not... as long as the file is not too large it should work out fine..
also click the box next to the upload option where it says embed picture in post...this will allow you to see what the picture will look like..
then hit preview (to preview it...duh) or hit ok and it will be posted.
once it is posted there will be a file name at the bottom of your post wth a small paper clip symbol next to it.. click on that and a new box will pop up with your picture in it...the address for this picture will appear at the top of the frame...either copy it down or highlight and paste it from your main internet address GO box at the top of your browser screen... it appears n 2 places but will only let you highlight and paste it from one.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks for the terrific advice, Katie.

I also LOVE the pushpin icon idea! I can use that to full advantage in the Dream Forum!

HELP!

I' ve tried doing what you' ve said, but all I see on the preview is the coding. Plus, in my tests, I get no avatar.

I am a comuter zero. (Did I tell you I used to teach software training classes -- they obviously didn' t help.)

Pat (plain Pat, no picture, no avatar) :)

Okay...here goes my first attempt at a signature image! Keeping my fingers crossed! One question...once you find a piece of clip art you like, how do you remember the URL for it so you can continue to use it?

PP :)

at the bottom of the message box that you type a new post in there is a spot that says click here to upload

If you have saved a pic on your computer you can upload it to this site.

If you haven' t saved it to your computer you can
find a pic you like or animation...
right click on it and choose save as...
name it and hit save..
and save it in a folder that you can access easily
like My Documents (which is usually on our desktop)

then start or reply to a post and click the area at the bottom that says click here to upload... a box will pop up that lets you browse for it on your computer...
find the pic you saved and double click on it..
then hit ok...
and it will upload it to this site..
then go back to the post you made and click on the little paperclipped file name at the bottom of your post..
your pic you uploaded will show up and the address for it will appear at the top of the window it appears in and at the top of the screen in your internet address box... Highlight the one at the top of the screen and you can cut and paste it into your signature or a post...
You wont be able to highlight the one that appears right above your pic.. it doesn' t let you for some reason...

I hope this isnt too confusing!!!

Let me know if I can help you...

again...I can' t type it in exactly or just the pic will show up....type only what is in BOLD prnt
