I miss that general feeling of excitement I get from the moment the plane takes off until our last day.  I just love that "giddy" feeling I have!

Don't ya crack up at the uptight parents yelling at the screaming kids??

We were at LTT and this one kid maybe he was 3 years old... was crying, screaming on top of his lungs. He was really driving everyone around him NUTS. Including me!!!
I started to pay attention and the problem was his parents wouldn't give him food!!!! They moved his highchair {even at like 3  years old?? } away from table and ate- all the while he's screaming. REALLY screaming- he was so worked up he was sweating, red in the face... and his parents just cont. eating. They told him no food for him.

Bless his little heart. I don't know what the reason behind it was- but when a character came by, his little face lit up and his mother would take a picture. Then go back to eating, he'd go back to screaming!

I was sick over it, but didn't know what to do. I'm shameful, but honestly, I didn't know what to do. So sadly, I didn't do anything but take an extra tylenol because I got such a headache listening to him scream! [8D]

I miss the smiles...  everywhere I go in Disney World, cast members treat me like I am their best friend[:o]

Lisabell -> RE: When you aren't at Disney.... (9/20/2008 1:53:51 PM)

I miss leaving the cares of my every day life behind. While I'm there, my troubles just float away!

I miss the way it smells.....the lush landscaping, the smell of treats in the air, the smell of a new t-shirt! [:-]

I miss that feeling of overwhelming joy to the point of almost bursting when I take my first walk down Main Street and hear the cheerful music. If the trolley with the Main St. singers comes while I'm there, it's all over. I'm a puddle of happy tears!

Gawrsh! I'm getting weepy at the thought of it. It's a good thing I only have to wait another 20 days to experience it all in person!

I miss that feeling of "belonging to the club!" You know? How we're all there together, friends, family, strangers, cast members. Just one big happy!

I miss the smell of fountain water!

I miss how the entire world outside is kept at bay.

I miss the [;)]MAGIC![;)]

Architectural design,  interior design,  environmental design, and landscaping being among my most intense passions, I miss all of the amazing and elaborate architectural details and theming, theming, theming that Disney is so skilled at, immersing us in surroundings, time, place, flavors, etc. and captivating us so thoroughly, that whisks us far away from the outside world, our personal troubles and pressures, concerns, conflicts, etc. etc. etc. that leave us the moment we enter into Disney property.

Every time I go to Disneyland, I find myself intently studying the fine architectural details everywhere I look.   I've been blessed by living within easy driving distance from Disneyland all my life, and I've lost count of the many times I've visited my "home away from home".   But, still, I continue to be delighted and uplifted by the "escape" from my every-day realities.

When I leave the park  I hold onto the Disney magic, in my mind and heart, for as long as I can.  When the time comes when the memories of the magic fade away, that's when I go through withdrawels, signaling to me the need to return ASAP to be refreshed and renewed again.   I'd rather think of the magic inside the parks being real reality, and the outside world merely non-reality.  Maybe the non-reality of the outside world makes the Disney world of magic all that more special in sharp contrast .... and I am constantly reminded of Walt's supreme visions, dreams, and concepts of what can be created, as well as his dedicated determination to follow through to make the magic to give us, as life-blessing gifts.

Me too Ahnalira. That's why I listen to the Disney stations on Live365 all the time! They've got a lot of music from the parks (ambient etc), complete soundtracks from the rides, movies, etc etc. I've gotten to the point now where I go to Youtube every morning and watch a video of MK's Welcome Ceremony to start my day LOL. Sometimes I end my day with Wishes, Fantasmic and Spectromagic videos too.

I miss people watching and listening to all the different accents! LOL I'm weird like that. I love listening to people's accents and trying to figure out where they're from. Most beautiful I've heard to date: The Irish and Scottish.

I miss the food!! I miss the smells!! I miss feeling blissed out 24/7 like I do when I'm there. I miss feeling like I'm in a little bubble away from the problems of reality. I miss forgetting about everything and being able to enjoy that moment with Kirk and whomever else may be with us that trip. Oh boy. LOL I can tell today is going to be a "Missing Disney BAD" kinda day. I will be wearing some ears today that's for sure! LOL

I think the kindness is what I miss the most.  Just think if the whole world treated you like the Disney castmembers.  The world would be a better, happier place!

You're totally right Tracee. Everyone there is so much nicer than in "real life". It takes me a day or 2 to get used to it again (my area is notorious for rudeness). I love how everyone is so nice and chatty with each other.
