There is another round of layoffs at the company I work at. They are starting to notify people today. One by one I keep hearing about people being laid off and they are not people I was expecting. I wasn't nervous about this until today when I started hearing the names.....I'm sick to my stomach.

Can you spare some more [;)]Pixie Dust[;)] for me? Dan's last day at his job is on Monday. After that it's unemployment for him until he lands something.....

I keep telling myself "Take deep breaths...."

Start counting your blessings, Girlfriend..  so much to appreciate in your Life.  Focus on that.  Whatever will be will be... so think about the things you have that nothing/no one can take away from you... like

  • Your saucy sense of humor
  • the love you share with everyone in your Life
  • baseball
  • American Girls
  • Magic
  • Spirituality
  • Intelligence

You see... the list just keeps going on[:o]

Change is the only constant, and the unknown is scary.  Just think of all those times you lived through a scary change and found yourself on the other side appreciating the changes that it evoked.  This will be just like that - IF it happens.  And if it doesn't, who wants to waste time on worry when you could be giggling[:-]

I'm with you in not only thoughts but prayers as well.  My DH Rick came home yesterday to tell me that he ALSO will be looking for a new job! (He works for his sister and brother-in-law. ) Their cabinet business is fading quickly here in Michigan.  They ARE in the process of connecting w/some other cabinet men in Vero Beach, FL.  But, unfortunately it's not looking good there either....So, "keep breathing" and I'm SURE something WILL turn out for you and Dan...

PLEASE keep us posted as to how those job interviews went???

Thanks so much everyone!!! That was some potent Pixie Dust!

We were called into a meeting this afternoon and told that our group would not be cut at this point in time but that the 2 open positions in our department would not be filled. That's good news and bad news I guess. More job security but way more work, too. I must admit, a little part of me would have welcomed 6 months off with pay but I really don't want to go job hunting until Dan is settled somewhere.

Tonight was Dan's going away party with his co-workers. After hearing all of the stories I really feel like he is lucky to be getting out of there. What a dysfunctional set-up there. I have a strong feeling that we're going to come out on the other side of this in better shape emotionally and financially.

So thanks again for the Pixie Dust and good thoughts.

Well..the un-layoff news..but not the more work news!
I've been on the down size end of that stuff and wondered always why they cut at the bottom..
Guess they figured nurses all needed some exercise!
 
The CUBBIES are doing wonderfully..so maybe now Dan won't have to defrag his computer and can catch a game...[&o]
