I have been back for a few days actually...but just catching up and getting things back in order.
Sami's team did not win the national championship, but it was an unbelievable game. They lost in overtime and Sami played the best game of her life...she got offensive MVP from her team. She was truly amazing...passing for 194 yards, running in a TD, throwing a TD pass and running in a 2 point conversion. The game ended in regulation with her completing a 21 yard pass to the 2 yard line....Chicago had no time outs left and it was heart breaking to see the clock run down on what would have surely been a TD to win the game in regulation. Dallas won the coin toss for overtime and so they got the ball first and were able to score to win in sudden death. It was a sold out crowd and the energy was amazing. There has been quite a buzz about Sami on Women's Football Message Boards and Internet Sports Radio. It has been pretty exciting.
I was sooo glad I got to have dinner with Lisa and Dan Monday night. We enjoyed Food Life at Water Tower Place and Sami and I had a great time. So sorry that we couldn't get together with Cara because she was busy with her national champion dancer! Congrats to Isabel!!! That is fantastic!
My son, Kyle, is leaving for New Zealand at the end of this month. He is going there with his friend with no real date of return. They are going on an "adventure" and will be working on farms and such to pay their way. So....here comes my empty nest. I get teary eyed just thinking about it.
