OK yesterday was his first ECHO Cardiogram since his surgery to see if it was a success. During his surgery they were able to preserve his Pulmonary valve (which is a valve in the heart that regulates the blood flow to the lungs) but they did warn us that it was very narrow and would need to grow with Ryan. Well we found out that it is still small, causing a huge pressure in his heart of around 60 (should be around 30) and his blood pressure is 96/57, which is very high for a baby. He also is gaining weight but not fast enough. He is just 13 1/2 pounds now. So Dr. Perry wants him reavaluated in 3 months with another ECHO and a Chest Xray and if Ryan has not gained enough weight to force that valve to grow more, they are going to possibley do a heart Catherization and force it open with a balloon (common practice). He prefers not to do this and wants to "drag his feet". I asked about our cruise in October because of course this is right around that time and he said go and have fun!!! YAY!!!!. So Ryan is still status quo, so keep him in your prayers for good weight gain and a growing valve!!! Liz
