Well I'm going to check in, maybe someone here will have some insight! Over the past month I have gained 10 pounds, and believe me my workouts are crazy hard! I do karate 2 days a week, cardio kickboxing 2 days a week and now I've started bikeriding(pulling Alex behind me in the bike wagon at least 2 days a week). I have cut out some treadmill running time cause my knees are taking a beating but I'm sure I'll start that up 3 days a week again soon! The problem is with all the other stuff I've been too busy to eat, I know i have been skipping meals. For example one day I was running around doing  errnads and cleaning one morning, in the afternoon I made a veggie egg white omlette, i skipped dinner cause I went to an ETAC class(Extreme training and conditioning) at 7:30 I nearly passed out during the class. When I got home it was too late to eat. The next morning I had my coffee and hit hte ground runnning, I didn't eat food until that afternoon. At that point it was a full 24 hours with NO food. It's not something I do on purpose it just happens when I get crazy busy. I am TRYING to be more consciense of breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I can't excerise before working out and most days of the week I do. But now this week when I'm trying so hard not to skip I feel bloated and like I'm eating too much. I can't find that happy medium. Here is what I ate yesterday, a special K protien bar for brekkie with coffee, a lean cuisine noodle bowl for lunch, and a ground chicken breat "burger" I made for dinner with a few baked onion rings, then I also are a cup of non fat strawberry ice cream. I don't know if it's me cause I just got used to no food or if that really is too much!
Now this morning is cardio kickboxing at 10 am(although I'm still hurting from Wednesdays class)! Then a party for Joe's ount tonight, for which I actually bought a springy dress!!!
One of these days I'll get this all right...just the right amount of food with just the right amount of exercise!

I think the answer for you might be, "Graze"  Fruit and veggies have carbs in them, too, and they are a great 'travel' food.  Yoplait also has a sugar free smoothie with 90 calories that is a good blend of carb and protein.

For me, I found that limiting flour products really assists my body to metabolize efficiently
