Jeanne Palmer, my 90-year-old "Wonder Woman" friend (in Havaaya) told me the other day that she too has terrible headaches nearly as frequently as I do. Recently someone recommended she try an herb called gelsemium, which is supposed to be good for relieving headache pain, as well as those annoying wrong-number phone calls just as you've jumped into the shower or sat down at the table for dinner. After an unsuccesful search for it in pharmacies, health food stores, and GNC Nutrition, I found it listed as one ingredient in something called "Hyland's Headache" being sold from an on-line homeopathic pharmacy. I decided to give it a try and ordered it yesterday. I'm trusting no harm will be done by trying it to see if it helps, or not. What's the worst that can happen ... I will have spent $16 for nothing? I hope that's the worst case scenario. Has anyone heard of gelsemium? Does anyone know anything about it? Will I be able to play the harpsichord while bungee-jumping off the top of the Seattle Space Needle after introducing this miracle herbal concoction into my system? Oh my, what am I getting myself into now .... ?
