Beware of things that go bump in the night .... Saturday night I had another horrible sleepless night, because of a massive headache I could not get rid of. I tried Tramadol -- that did not do anything. After waiting an hour and a half, I tried tylenol with codiene -- it had absolutely no effect. I tried bio-feedback relaxation exercises, and all that did was put my left foot to sleep, but my head was still screaming at me. Several times I got up to browse through some of the 12 million holiday catalogues we get in the mail this year .... I still felt crappy and had to go back to bed, even if I could not get to sleep. I lost track of how many glasses of water I had been drinking while visiting the land of insomnia, of which I was so ready to leave, so of course, I had to make a run to the winky tink room. On my way back to bed, I lost my balance, and went KERPLOTZ on the floor ... well, that didn't help my head much, and boy did I feel like a world-class klutz. I pulled myself up off the floor and slowly navigated my way back to bed. I might have gotten 3 minutes of sleep, if that that night. Sunday afternoon Gary and I went to the Long Beach Playhouse to see "Bus Stop". At the end of the intermission, we were returning to our seats, climbing over people that were seated in our row, and I tripped over something on the floor ..... and yep, you guessed it, I went down again, except this time I made a graceful flying leap into the lap of a very surprised woman; I don't think she'd expected to find me in her lap, a total stranger, during the performance. I apologized to the moon and back, pulled myself off her, and thankfully made my way back to my seat. For my splendid grand finale, I managed to lose my footing at the bottom of the stairs as we were exiting the theater with the 6 thousand other theatre-goers, the sandel I was wearing on my right foot flew off and slid all the way into a wall about 20 feet from the stair landing, and I kind of made a strange, twisted maneuver as I tried to keep myself vertical and prevent another fall .... well, whatever I did it seemed to do the trick, as I landed on both feet, and the rest of me in the air. I was so hoping everybody was distracted by other things and did not see my graceful, lilting ballet move down the stairs. For the last couple of days my right side that took the impact of the falls, has been quite sore, and I'm not quite ready to do my Bee-Bop Swing Dance just yet, but when I am, I think I'd better wear a helmet (under my tiara), arm pads (under my full-length opera gloves), and leg pads bedazzled with rhinestones, rubies, leather, and lace. I'm pooping out now so I be going to fall back into bed, softly this time :-)
