Architectural design, interior design, environmental design, and landscaping being among my most intense passions, I miss all of the amazing and elaborate architectural details and theming, theming, theming that Disney is so skilled at, immersing us in surroundings, time, place, flavors, etc. and captivating us so thoroughly, that whisks us far away from the outside world, our personal troubles and pressures, concerns, conflicts, etc. etc. etc. that leave us the moment we enter into Disney property. Every time I go to Disneyland, I find myself intently studying the fine architectural details everywhere I look. I've been blessed by living within easy driving distance from Disneyland all my life, and I've lost count of the many times I've visited my "home away from home". But, still, I continue to be delighted and uplifted by the "escape" from my every-day realities. When I leave the park I hold onto the Disney magic, in my mind and heart, for as long as I can. When the time comes when the memories of the magic fade away, that's when I go through withdrawels, signaling to me the need to return ASAP to be refreshed and renewed again. I'd rather think of the magic inside the parks being real reality, and the outside world merely non-reality. Maybe the non-reality of the outside world makes the Disney world of magic all that more special in sharp contrast .... and I am constantly reminded of Walt's supreme visions, dreams, and concepts of what can be created, as well as his dedicated determination to follow through to make the magic to give us, as life-blessing gifts.
