I have always said that I would not even consider Lasik surgery.  Then two years ago I developed some kind of syndrome and cannot wear contact lenses any more.  My vision without glasses is quite poor.  I cannot stand glasses much as they for some reason they are always dirty and smudged.

Well, now I am actually strongly considering it. Have any OLP family members ever taken this particular leap or know someone well who has?  What was your/their experience?

And is there any spare Pixie Dust out there so that not only do I make the correct decision and that if I go through with it, that I've made the right decision.

Thanks so much,
Barb

I have quite a few friends and relatives who have had Lasik surgery done; everyone LOVED it.  The only comment wishing for something slightly different was from my sister, who was about 61 when she had it done.  She was to the point where she needed reading glasses before the surgery.  The doctors corrected both her eyes to be 20/20 for long distance, which means she ALWAYS has to use reading glasses now to read anything.  I have had cataract surgery done on both eyes, and I had one eye set up for near vision, one eye set up for far vision.  My contacts used to be set up this way and I loved it.  Now I love it with the implanted lenses from the cataract surgery.  I'm pretty sure you can do the same kind of thing with Lasik, if you think it would work for your eyes.
