While on the DVC cruise last october they announced that DVC was going Hawaiian with it's own resort.Alot of members said we are going to buy our next home resort in Hawaii.I for one will be making my way to hawaii sometime after the resort is open.
The resort that most members have been waiting for is soon to open at the Contemporary. The new resort called The Kingdom Towers will be the first resort on the monorail. It stinks that the opening will be during our economic downfall in the USA.I was waiting to make the KTV my next home resort but that's not going to happen unless I win the lottery.I can see this being the hardest DVC room to get for a long time but I will try to get a room for my 10th anniversary 4th of July trip in 2009 if it's open by then.I always have my first home resort at the Wilderness lodge which is our family favorite to stay at just off the monorail.
I was very surprised how much we loved the Animal kingdom Villas and would recommened staying at this resort.Know that the main resort change over has finished and the main DVC resort construction is ongoing I can see it will be a wonderful resort. The only downside of this resort will be location since it's only transportation is busses.Hopefully something will change with that but im not counting on that ever happening. It's funny to think that with my 9th year as a member coming up that I have not stayed at all the DVC resorts which include Old key West, Hilton Head and Vero beach. It's very exciting being a member these days and the DVC future looks very good.

Pete and I have been DVC owners for 2 years already and we have stayed at the following DVC resorts:
Saratoga Springs - Home resort
Wilderness Logde - semi-home resport
Old Key West
Soon to come The Beach Club (October of this year)

We have used or DVC points for stays at:
Coronado Springs
Grand Califonia (in Disney Land)

My plan is for us to try out all of the DVC resorts in Disney World and see which one we like best.  My guess is that the Wilderness Lodge will win out, but you never know.  Only time will tell.

When we first looked at buying DVC in the beginning..way back when..15 years ago..
OKW was the only resort..
A sales person told us that that would be all there ever would be..well..look at it now!!
Hawai'i!!!
What's next!?!
We're pretty excited about the plans fpr DLR..we KNOW that the few rooms at the Grand Cali won't be the end of it there!
I really have loved the get away at Vero Beach.
Have points at OKW,Boardwalk and Wilderness..
Besides those we've stayed at the BCV and SSR too.
The Contemp rooms sound really nice!
Big doin's ahead!

Oh I forgot we even used our DVC points to stay at the White Hall hotel in downtown Chicago.
