American Southwest
May 30th - June 6th (Ser Alan's b-day)

Ecuador and Galapagos Islands
August 25th - September 3rd

South Africa Safari
December 15th - December 26th...   Or maybe London and Paris in December sometime (I've always wanted to see The Lion King, eat lunch in the Eiffel Tower, and go to Disneyland Paris).  How cold is it there in the winter?

Can y'all tell we are drawn to the "Nature" tours

Now when we travel we do stay at nice place and do have a budget for traveling that is in the deluxe categories at WDW and other places but I cannot see giving ABD over $10,000 for a one week vacation, not including any airfare, tips, extra meals, etc for 4 people.

As an example Ireland for 4 during their value season at early booking discount prices would be $9200 (kids 12 and older are considered adults) before airfare, etc. This is one of their least expensive options.

Sorry Disney as much as we love the product I can take a two week trip to Europe for this amount and hiring tour guides for each city we visit

Status: offline 		I'm just back (tonight) from Peru...   it was worth every penny, Joan  I agree - I thought they were high when I first signed up, too...  I just had to do, one, though, to see the value I was getting  Seamless transitions are a big value for me, and the amount of research Disney does to make sure we are having an 'immersion' experience with activities not available to general tourists is another.

I'm going to sign up for Galapagos (June 16th, 2009 in case anyone wants to come with) this week

I'll start my trip report asap, Joan, and you'll get an idea of what I mean

Status: offline 		I understand the value in it but when it comes down to taking a two week vacation or two vacations in a year vs only one for a week at these prices then I will have to pass on the ABD's
As an example we went to London last year and with airfare, 8nt stay at the same hotel that ABD uses in London, meals, attraction tickets, tickets to one west end show that wasn't discounted, took the train to Paris and stayed overnight - the total cost INCLUDING airfare was $8000 for the 4 of us and that was with the bad exchange rate

A co-worker went on one last year and really enjoyed it but she used DVC points for it. The one thing she didn't care for, and I also have read on other trip reports, is the food options. All the meals included, except one was a buffet and except for the first and last meal the other food wasn't great. When paying all that money I would expect the food to be better then average. The groups are kept small enough that it shouldn't be a problem doing non buffet meals. Also one of the people she travelled with was a vegetarian and one night the only thing she could eat is salad and mashed potatoes. They didn't even have grilled vegetables as an option

I don't mean to sound negative and for two people these tours are great but when paying a premium for 4 then I expect some things to not be average
I really want to try one and keep pricing them out but can't get myself to take the next step, especially with the food reports still being not great. I mean even in Italy the latest reports have said the food wasn't great. I never had a bad meal in Italy and I have been there 3 times
