How do you put pictures in your posts as a signature?

Status: offline 		I was just playing around with one of my replies and editing it trying to figure out how I can put a graphic or something into the message as a signature from my computer' s hard drive. It seems sorta complicated, how can I do it?

Status: offline 		I think I can help you figure out how to do it, Goofyteer. It is fairly easy to do once you know how.

When you have the box open that you type your post in you will see a spot under the text box that says click here to upload. That is where you click to upload a picture from your hard drive. Once you click there a box will pop up, and you need to know where to look for whatever picture you want to post. Most pictures will be in your Documents folder that is located on your desktop.

So, once the box pops up, click on the word Browse. Another box will pop up and it will list the folders on your desktop. Click on My Documents, then click on My Pictures. A list of all your pictures in that file will pop up. Just look for the one you what, click on it, and you will see the name of it in the box next to the word Browse. Click OK and the file will upload. A box will come up telling you the upload was successful, click OK.

Now comes the part that actually shows the picture in your post. Next to where you clicked on Click here to upload is a box you need to click on to make sure it is checked. You will see the words Embed picture in post next to it.

Hmm, this seems to be able to put a picture into a message. Now how do I put a picture into my signature?

Status: offline 		Now that you have mastered putting pictures in your posts it is easy to put them in your signature.

You need to go into your profile and scroll down to the text box for your signature.

The picture has to be uploaded somewhere first. Folks here have the wonderful luxury of OLP provided space. You can use the Doodle forum to upload your picture. Just start a New Topic and upload the picture just like you did with the one here. To get the web address of the picture you need to right click on the image, and select Properties. A box will pop up and you will see the URL listed. Just highlight and, right click, and select Copy.

Now, back to the section of your profile where you type in your signature. After the first commands, center and image, you right click and select Paste, and the URL you copied will paste where you need it. Then type the closing commands. Here is what you type, and this will also center the picture.

[ center ] [ image ] http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/aspplay/upfiles/415/Zw69460.jpg [ /image ] [ /center ]

Now when you type it you need to leave the spaces out to make it work. I used the URL from your picture.

OK, Goofyteer, you got an A+ on your first assignment. I bet you will do just as well on this one!

Hmmm it looks like I' m doing something wrong. Do you have any idea what I did wrong? My signature just shows the text of the pictures I uploaded here. :/

Just take the space out at the end of the url and before the beginning of the [/image] command, and I believe you' ll be " picture perfect"

Thanks guys for helping out Btw goof, when you are writing your post there is a helpful button that says " image" on it right about where you type your message. This will do a lot of the work for you when you want to put up an image

That' s strange, I took out the spaces on both of them but still nothing. Maybe the forum only allows using one pic instead of two?

No wait, I just went back and tried taking out one of the two images but it still didn' t work. I think I' m stuck somewhere? :/

Status: offline 		Hi Goofyteer, I just went in and took the extra spaces out of your signature and sure enough it works right now. Take a look at your signature and you should be able to see how to add more pictures Good luck!
