Thanks Everyone!!!

So far, I'm having a wonderful birthday. We went the National Musuem of Mexican Art to see their Day of the Dead exhibit. They do a different exhibit every year from Sept.-Dec. Having been born between Halloween and the Day of the Dead, it's always been one of my favorite holidays. There's something about laughing at death on the anniversary of your birth that I find ironically appealing.

This museum is one of the gems of Chicago. It's a little off the beaten path but worth the trip! And the gift shop is TO DIE FOR!! LOL! (Hee, hee! Couldn't resist!) There is one painting in the Museum that I have to spend a lot of time looking at every time I visit. Link to Painting Of course, this doesn't do it justice. It's 96” x 201” in size....an entire wall of one gallery and if you focus on one point in the painting for a minute or so, the whole painting starts to pulse and swirl (and no, I didn't smoke anything funny on the way to the museum. LOL!) WOW!!! It's just amazing!!

After dinner we went to a great restaurant in the Pilsen neighborhood called Nuevo Leon for Mole Chicken. YUM!!!

Now we're home and planning to curl up on the couch with a good movie. For my birthday present, Dan bought me the entire set of McDonald's Happy Meal Madame Alexander Wizard of Oz dolls. They arrived today and I've been playing with them since I got them. You gotta have toys on your birthday, right?
