Here's a few pics from the Soave Halloween. I tried to take some of my decorating, but, the lighting didn't lend too well to the project. But, maybe you can get the idea. I took all the curtains and blinds down on the first floor windows. I replaced them with tattered and torn gauze. I figured, it would look spooky and then I would be forced to wash the windows and cutains anyway! I basically decorated the entire first floor with spooky things. But, the dining room was the best. I switched out everything in my china cabinet and replaced it with bottles and jars filled with colored water and creepy things floating in some of the jars. Then I lit it with purple lights. I covered the inside of the curio cabinet with black plastic. Then Natalie helped cut silhouettes of a screaming face and creepy hands reaching for the face. After placing a strobe light inside the cabinet, you got the suggestion of something very scary happening in there. There were twining snakes and black gauze hanging in strips from the light. Cobwebs in abundance. The table was covered with a burgundy velvet table cover I stitched up. And, tucked in wherever I could, wer mice, rats and bugs. I had a blast decorating and wish I had taken more pictures. Alas, I was too busy having fun. Jim bought me a fog machine on sale the day after Halloween...so I informed him that since he endorsed the party, that means we will have one next year! I think we've started a new tradition! Pumpkin and costume pics to come!
