Hey 10/12/08 Anniversary Cruisers, keep your fingers & toes crossed.......The Shuttle Endeavour is scheduled for launch on October 16th. the day we arrive back to Port Canaveral

lets hope all goes well that they can keep there schedule and that an early morning lift-off will occur while we are on board the ship

Oh my gosh....that would be awesome. I'm still working on my husband for this LOL...i think he's either afraid to admit he's scared to cruise or he's waiting to see what the tax return is. We'll see...cross your fingers that we get to see that lift off too!!!

OH boy!

Wouldn't that be perfect!

We've seen a few launches in person and this morning's was truely amazing!

Wish I could have been there.

Every launch now is going to be special since the shuttles are being phased out.

Anyone who's in Florida at a launch time should really try to get as far out to the Cape as they can.

It's a wonderous experiance!

Our plan is always to just drive as far as we can,listen to the countdown on the radio,and pull off the road at the end and enjoy.

Barb and I want so bad to see one go up in December but they couldn't seem to get the darn thing off the ground for over a month

maybe this time will be our lucky trip.

Well it looks like Nasa has moved the launch date for Atlantis.
The new targeted launch date is now October the 8th. and not on the 16th.
Barb and I arrive the day before so hopefully I can stay up to 1:34 AM when Atlantis lifts off.........

a night time lift off that will be a great show to watch.

I wish they could have stuck to the original plan for lift off on the 16th. that way we could all see the lift off.
But who knows, with delays we may all be able to still see it.

I hope that you and Barb get to see it off. I have seen one night launch and it is amazing even when watched from CBR.
What December launch are you referring to?
We will be there December 1 to December 6.
It's also our 50th, but we are not cruising. We are at the GF.

Hi Jim,
I was referring to last Decembers lift off that never was.
We arrived on the Wonder Dec. 6th. hoping to see a lift off before we sailed but it didn't happen for I think over a month later.
I wouldn't mind if it were postponed this time until Oct. 8 or 9 this way we would be on-board the Wonder and see it from ocean.
