Okay.  I'm settled into our new house and ready to get back on track.  DH was finally able to set up the treadmill last night.  We had to disassemble and reassemble to get it in -- good think DH knew what he was doing.

So, it's calling my name to get back into a regular walking schedule (hope to run at some point).  Getting back into it is hard.  Yep -- still there.  Waiting.  :)

I'm hoping that posting this will give me a boost toward putting on my shoes and hopping on.

Pat, Here's some 'hopping on'

And I'll add to that...  excercise is what really makes the difference for me.  Since we joined the gym, I'm working out longer each session.  And the effects are dramatic.  Pants I bought in May (already several sizes than what I wore last year) are looking too big on me in July (We joined the gym in mid June). And - get this - even my shoes are getting looser  I just can't even begin to describe how much I enjoy having a jawline again

So exercise, Girlfriend!

I'm still hanging in there!!  I hit my total of 30 lbs lost and have stayed within 2 lbs one direction or the other for several weeks now.  So, I'm good with that!  I look good in my clothes (IMHO!), more importantly I FEEL good in my clothes!  I haven't exercised as much b/c it's been 100 degrees or above for the last week!  I could still go and walk in the heat, but nobody will come with me and I'm just not a loner!  However, last night I was talking to my neighbor (she brought me over cucumbers and squash!  YUM!!), and she wants to start walking with me in the evenings!!  Yay!  SHe's so funny and nice, so that should be fun!  Hopefully that will pan out and become a regular thing!  I'm trying very hard to stay on a good path b/c I know I will stray in the eating dept when we are in DW in a couple of weeks.  That's inevitible and I'm ok with it!  Jeff was laughing at me yesterday b/c the shorts I was wearing were so big on me.  I had them belted up finally b/c they were, literally, falling off!  He told me I could go buy some more new ones if I wanted to and get rid of those!  I said no, I would keep them b/c if I gained any weight back, they would fit again!  He told me no, I wasn't GOING to gain it back b/c I'd worked too hard to lose it!  GOOD POINT!!  But, I'm still not ditching those shorts yet!  They are pretty new (I bought them the beginning of summer) and I like them!  So, for now they will be belted and worn!!  More and more of my clothes are new and fit me correctly, so I'm making progress there!  I feel rather silly b/c I had bought new things earlier b/c I never dreamed I would lose another 10 lbs after hitting my goal of 20!  Not that I'm complaining, of course!!  HAHAHAHA!!  But, to be honest, I'm getting rather tired of shopping!!  So, I'm waiting a while!!

It's all good, baby!!  Keep on working on that treadmill now that it's back to being usable!!  And enjoy that new house!!  WOOHOO!!  You're on a roll!!

Way to go Jodi!! Wow that is awsome!!   And get rid of those "fat" clothes...I DID!!  You won't gain the weight back...you now know what it takes to be healthy.  I have decided to run the 5k Susan G. Koman race for the cure next Mother's day...and I have never run a day in my life!!  I actually got a few sisters to join me.  Like your state, it to has been way to hot to walk or jog, but when the weather cools I will be out there training!!!

Well, I did get on and walked for 30 minutes.  I told myself I'd just do 20 to get back into it, but once I was on, I stayed!  It didn't hurt that the Travel Channel was airing Disney shows, lol!

I didn't get on this morning (yet) because I had to be somewhere at 7:30 for a few minutes.  I plan on getting on later this afternoon.  I am on a roll now!

Ahnalira, Jodi and timonrn -- way to go on loosing and having to buy new clothes!  And Liz - that's great you're going to do the run.  I'd love to do the Disney half-marathon, but I don't think that's happening at least not this year.  :)  My older son could do the marathon though -- hmmm, now there's an idea!

Well, I never post on these sorta ones, but I really need to. I got on the scale and the numbers that jumped out at me- were just too high. 158 lbs is just not good - so I've vowed to at least walk 5 nights a week... or as often as I can. I was talking to a fitness trainer and he said don't really set long goals but daily. Because IF I say I'm going to walk 5 nights and only walk 2 - I'll get discouraged and give up...
He said even if I walked 12 mins a week- it's 12 mins more than I do now.
So Erin and I went for a mile walk- it was HOT out there, but felt good. I gave our treadmill away and now I want it back boo hooooo

I have to agree with your trainer.  While I do set long term goals, I do not set them too high.  I have known too many people who say, "I'm going to lose 50 lbs in  3 months".  Well,  that's about 5 lbs a week.  When, during week one they only lose 2 or 3, they quit b/c the goal seems unatainable and too difficult.  Smaller, short term goals keep you focused and energized.  And REALISTIC goals are key.  I think you are on the right track, snowy!!  And you're increasing energy levels and self esteem make an EXCELLENT reward, too!  I know I'm a broken record here, but MEASURE!  You'll be AMAZED how quickly you lose inches!!  And that is an awesome motivator, too!!  GO SNOWY!!!

You can do it, Snowy!  Once you get into the habit of it, you'll start looking forward to the good feelings it brings

I even went as far to check into the gym at the ice rink- that is so not me-- but I figured while the kids are skating, I could be walking on the thread mill.

We walked the mile again last night and it went so much faster than the first night- I would have walked further but only had 4 hours of sleep and it was soooo hot and humid. The air quality was poor. But I'm happy about getting the 2 miles done in 2 days.  it's a start!

Way to go, Snowy!  Stay with it like this for a couple of weeks, and you'll be walking circles around the rest of us
