I humbly request forgiveness from my OLP family.  I have been horribly absent for quite some time.  However, you are all in my thoughts and prayers on a continuous basis.  I quietly send out those mysterious dustings of Pixie Dust that magically appear.  I do admit I lurk from time to time to make sure I can send out Pixie Dust to all those in need, but I just am finding time to be quite lacking in my day-to-day activities to let you know I'm here sending out best wishes, prayers, and Pixie Dust.

I am still working full-time and attending classes.  This spring saw Microbiology, YUK!, and Technical Writing.  I have been and continue to work on an Independent study in Life Cycle Nutrition.  This coming week I begin,  FOTU help me!, Biochemistry for 6 weeks.  I feel that pretty soon, I'll have the course work stuff under good control.

Recently, I also added a leadership role into my life.  I applied and was chosen to run on my national association's ballot for a position on their governing body and was accepted to run and won the election.  This is a great honor and responsibility and I hope to represent myself and my field of work well in the next 2 years.  I have recently gone to a Leadership conference in Las Vegas for 4 days and it was an awesome experience for networking and the speakers were fantastic.

In October, I'll be going to Chicago for a 5-6 days for a conference.  I'll be attending meetings at the McCormick Place Convention Center.  Now for everyone in the Chicago area...I have a couple questions.  The headquarters hotels will be on Wacker Avenue.  Is this walking distance from the Convention Center?  There are shuttles, but I often prefer walking...Is this possible?  Is there anything I need to know about the area?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
