WDW Resorts Come in Four Flavors ...
One of the joys of
experiencing the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort is the sampling of resorts that come in four basic
flavors: value, moderate, deluxe, and vacation club. The Disney® commitment to creativity in theming and excellence in service runs through every resort offering at various
degrees, depending upon the flavor chosen.
Value Resorts focus on providing playful, bright
environments and free bus transportation to all of the Disney® activities
onsite. Smaller spaces, food courts,
and outdoor entrances (motel standard) are the techniques that make these
resorts cost less. Rooms are plentiful
in this category.
Moderate Resorts add a bit more
theming to the environment, a few more square feet of floor space per room, a
restaurant with full service in addition to a food court, and recreation
options like cycling and boating (DISNEY'S CORONADO SPRINGS Resort has a health club as
well). Transportation to Disney®
activities is by bus.
Disney Deluxe Villas Resorts offer a spacious environment that includes a kitchen area (small in the studio
and full size in the one, two and three bedroom models). There is a sitting area as well, and most
have washers and dryers, too. Themed to
the environment of the particular resort, transportation, dining, and
recreation amenities are of the deluxe standard for some and moderate for
others. The key term for this flavor is
spacious.
Deluxe Resorts are the epitome of Disney® theming with
grand lobbies and indoor room entrances (hotel standard). Dining options often include three to five
restaurants in the resort, and recreation options include tennis and health
clubs. Rooms are larger and include
more amenities like coffee makers, ironing boards, etc. Transportation to and from Disney® activities
includes boat and monorail, depending upon the resort, in addition to buses.
