OLP Review:

Dinner! ..and we're dining at Alan' s favorite DisneyLAND restaurant,

The Storyteller' s Cafe located in the Grand Californian.

The artistry in this restaurant inspires me endlessly  This is a bench in the waiting area:

..and the buffet line:

Our table...

We both chose Salads..  Alan, the Grilled Salmon:

and myself, the Chopped Salad:

We enjoyed dining at the Storyteller's Cafe so much that we went again for breakfast several times!

Where we were joined by a couple of "characters" each morning; >)

We tried almost everything on the breakfast menu EXCEPT the buffet...
Vegetable Hash

Omelet... my personal fave!

Stuffed French Toast (Alan stopped sampling once he found this one..

and Huevos Rancheros

We also our enjoyed a lunch at Storyteller's Cafe..

The cornbread was scrumptious!

The burger met Alan's high standard of approval

and the Club looks pretty good, too, n'est-ce pas?

We each LOVED our Storyteller's Cafe dining experience!

DisneyLAND hasn't quite yet gotten a handle on the sugarfree " thang"

but we are sure that - with our continued lobbying - it' s only a matter of time!

Still one of the best Disneyland eateries!
9/26/2010 by Ser Alan
We recently had a fun stay at Disneyland including a couple of nights at the new Grand Californian Villas, which was wonderful.  We got to eat a couple of breakfasts and a couple of lunches at Storytellers and its still a great place to eat.  For breakfast I highly recommend the huevos rancheros and the stuffed french toast (reminiscent of the Polynesian!) which are both excellent breakfasts.  For lunch I had the quesadillas which are quite good (especially the guacamole) but I found that the turkey club was actually the more satisfying experience.  Overall I give the Storytellers about a 4.6 for food (by Disneyland standards -- not by Disneyworld) , a 4.7 for ambience -- they have delightful booths and the art work is very nice and craftsman-y (character breakfast is a bit raucous though!).   That rounds up to a 5 in my book!

I recently visited this restaurant on my first night Disneyland. I thought the food wasn't going to be very good. I had the cheese pizza. The crust was like pita bread and the cheese was cold. My family was satisfied but we never went back.
yummy cornbread!

I recently partook of the dinner buffet at the Storyteller's Cafe and it was delicious.  It included salmon, roast, chicken, macaroni & cheese, cesar salad, fresh fruit, and a ton of desserts (including a sugarfree cake that was quite good).  Above all else, the complimentary cornbread made a lasting impression - especially when combined with the steaming clam chowder!  The only reason this rating is a 4 instead of a 5 is that I would like to see a little more creativity with the dishes.  Everything tasted good, but for the price category (very expensive) I would like to be surprised by how good it is.
