OLP Review : Menu(s) : Other Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Restaurants

Cuisine: Seafood
Price Scale: $$$
Meals Served: D

Located on the grounds of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Narcoossee’s is a full service restaurant open nightly for dinner. The octagon restaurant is placed on the water’s edge with a magnificent view of the fireworks display in the Magic Kingdom. Slightly more upscale than Grand Floridian Café and slightly less upscale than Citrico’s, Narcoossee’s offers fine dining for the more casual and for families. Fresh seafood is the main attraction at Narcoossee’s and meals are in the $$$ category. PS’s are recommended.
OLP Review:

One strolls the grounds of the Grand Floridian Resort to find Narcoosssee's Restaurant at the water's edge.

Narcoossee's grows their herbs fresh in the garden by the front entrance!

The waiting area sets the tone of the restaurant with simple furnishings of beautiful woods..

The colors are very nautical, representing the fresh seafood focus of the restaurant.

We began with appetizers...

Mussels in a garlic broth

Chicken dumplings (ie potstickers; >)

Antipasti plate (sans proscuitto for me)

Mixed field greens

and Butternut squash with blue crab soup

All of them got hearty applause from reviewers, and the soup took first place.

For entrees we chose:

Roasted chicken

Colorado lamb chops

and Filet mignon with mushrooms and potatoes augratin

The chicken took first place, and the lamb only got one thumb's up.

Ah, dessert!  Of course, there was a sugar free selection, and it won accolades for taste, texture, and creativity.

The Tiramasu was also exclaimed over with relish; >)

We watched the fireworks over the castle from our seats, and all of agreed Narcoossee's was a Disney meal worth $$$ we spent.

AWESOME 1-20-091/24/2009 by Mary E. McLaughlin

To all staff and managers,

Thank you, thank you, so very much for making my Mother's 80th birthday such a magical time. We were at the park all day, but the best was yet to come when Debby came to our table. We all clicked immediately, and she was truly a gem to meet. From start  to finish, her execution seemed perfect. With gourmet dining, when the service outshines the meal, you know you've got someone special.  I tip my hat to the operations that made this evening unforgettably perfect. Thank you once again.

                                                                                     Sincerely, The McLaughlin family

Our meal was amazing! No wait, castle view, great service and wonderful food!! I dont think I could ever go to Disney World and not eat at this incredible restaurant. My husband and I both had the crab cakes, which was to die for. Then we had the Grilled Filet Mignon and Butter-Poached Lobster Tail ... WOW!!  Then for desert we had the Almond-crusted Cheesecake with Lambert Cherry Sauce. I wanted to lick my plate!!  SOOOO good!! If you want an great meal in a beautiful setting run to Narcoossees!!

A++++ food, service, atmosphere4/6/2007 by Heather M

We ate at Narcoossees 1/13/07 and it was the best meal of our honeymoon. We had ADR's for 6:00 and had NO wait. We were seated by the window, and when we met our sweet server we told her we were on our honeymoon, and we got free champagne. My husband ordered the crab cakes and a 2 and 1/4 pound maine lobster which he loved, and I had a cheese plate appetizer and the filet mignon. It is the BEST I have EVER had. Whatever kind of sauce they put is excellent. We had the almond crusted cheesecake for dessert and the sorbet, both great...  Cheesecake to die for!  A nice plus was not a lot of noisy kids - very romantic, and great view of Wishes and the castle! A++++

Stylishly Good5/31/2006 by Rob

We ate here only a few days ago ( May 2006 ) and found it to be every bit as good as wed hoped.

My wife had the Ravioli to start while I opted for the crab cakes. Both appetisers were well presented and delightful. For our entrees I had the filet mignon served with gratin potatos : my wife had the salmon. Both were cooked exactly as requested and proved to be as substantial as they were delicious.

Filled to brimming we shared a dessert and rounded off the evening with espressos ( in the hope that they might revive us enough to enjoy the fireworks display over the lagoon at Magic Kingdom ).

Citricos might just still have the edge in our humble opinion but its a close run thing and down to personal choice.

Thoroughly recommended.

The quality is superb!10/26/2005 by Ahnalira

Every meal Ive eaten at his restaurant has been top notch: fresh, well-prepared, and with an interesting presentation.  Even though the specialty here is seafood, we always find the other alternatives to be excellent.

The only aspect that keeps from going all the way with a 5 rating is the noise factor...  The sound reverberates in this restaurant so if you need peace and quiet while you eat, try Citricos ; >)
