Boatwright's Dinner Review

OLP reviews a pleasant dinner at Boatwright's Dining Hall, located at Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside at Walt Disney World Resort/

OLP Review:

Here we are, adventurous OLP always available to research for you; >), at Boatwrights Restaurant in the Port Orleans, Riverside Resort.

We started with salads, light and fresh, with a raspberry vinigrette that met our no sugar added standard:)

Alan ordered the Jambalaya and was well pleased with the assortment of meats in it and the over all flavor.

Ahnalira LOVED her Tilapia!  On the menu, it's described as "blackened", but she opted for no rub to maintain the no sugar added standard, and it was SO fresh she said it needed nothing more.  The stewed green tomatoes as a the side made her roll her eyes with happiness :)

And then there was dessert... a no sugar added Lemon Pound Cake.  Served "Strawberry Shortcake style" with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, Ahnalira meant to share with Alan, but it was too good.  She ate the whole dessert herself!

All in all, we were happy reviewers. The entrees averaged between $15 and $20... made quite reasonable, Alan felt, with a 20% Disney Dining discount we subtracted from that price. We gave the meal at Boatwrights a solid four thumbs up rating for service, quality, and presentation.

We gave the view as we strolled around the Port Orleans Resort after dinner a wholehearted "EXCELLENT!"

GREAT Gluten-free Voodoo Chicken!
4/7/2016 by Ahnalira
Had one of my favorite meals here recently! Gluten-free fried chicken and waffles--YUM! And we followed that with a gluten-free and no sugar added Crme Brulee. Disney really knows how to take care of us "special diners!" Both of these were items were on the Allery-friendly menu and required no special prep or notice. How cool is that?!

We last ate here in May for my sons wedding dinner. I had the prime rib with mashed potatoes. The gravy that came with it is to die for. I crave it to this day. I really love eating here. Very cozy, not as busy as restaurants in the parks. The service was great. Two thumbs up!!!
Amazing gf chicken and waffles!

We eagerly anticipated our dinner at Boatwrights with dreams of fried chicken and waffles dancing in our heads.  Fortunately for us, Boatwright's lived up to our expecations with the most delicious gluten free chicken and waffle dish we've ever seen!

To start with I ordered the gf french onion soup with a delicously dark broth and loads of melted gruyere cheese -- although I will say that there was an absence of any kind of bread in my soup.  Ahnalira had the mozzarella and tomato salad which was pretty good too.  This was followed by the gf fried chicken and waffles for Ahnalira which was absolutely delicious.  The waffles were almost like popovers with a pudding like inside.  The chicken was a crusty moist perfection.  I ordered the short rib on mash which was good but not quite fork tender, I think it was a little bit undercooked.

Finally we received the best p

One Of My Faves!

Boatwright's Dining Hall is my go-to dinner location when the I'm tired from the touring crowded parks.  There is something so cozy and relaxing about Boatwrights!  I'm not sure why...but I always feel relaxed and rejuvenated there.  AND the food is really good!  It's one of the more moderately priced Disney restaurants, and the quality of the food is excellent.  Writing about it brings memories that make me want to go there tonight.

A well kept secret!

We recently visited Boatwrights for a very pleasant dinner experience at Port Orleans Riverside.  Over the years we've found that Boatwrights is a very well kept secret and tends to be uncrowded, we walked right in without any reservations at all at a time when the parks were packed with people.  The bad news is that they no longer serve breakfast here -- breakfast was a great meal, one of my faves on property.

Our dinner did not disappoint, I started with the spinach salad which was fresh with delicious goat cheese bits that really added good flavor.  We also found out that the raspberry vinaigrette was no sugar added and it was really good.  For my entree I went with the Jambalaya which was quite good, Ahnalira had an un-blackened fish fillet which she just raved about.  For dessert they had a lemon poundcake which seemed very strawberry shortcake-ish to me and was quite enjoyable.

We just came back from POR in August and enjoyed Boatwrights fro breakfast several times!  And let me say, it didn't dissapoint one little bit!!  From the awesome servers to the delicious food, it was all around great!  In fact, breakfast at Boatwrights was one of the things I looked most forward to when we decided to stay at POR again!!  I would HIGHLY reccommend it to anyone!  The banana stuffed french toast, sweet potato pancakes, and eggs benedict are absolutely to die for!!
