OLP Review:

Located at the far end of Main Street (from the gate;>), The Crystal Palace is Character Buffet that offers up three meals of Disney magic a day

The ambiance is light-filled and garden-like.

and the seating is surprisingly comfortable

The buffet was excellent, in our humble opinions.  Everything was VERY fresh, and the vegetarian options were plentiful.  We particularly enjoyed the variety of Thai curry dishes available.

The traditional buffet carving station was available as well as the Childrens' corner of "kid favorites"

There was salmon and chicken as well (VERY popular)

My favorite area, though, was the Salad selection... The assortment was fresh and impressively varied, imho

The "sides" area and dessert assortment weren't to shabby, either; >)

Of course, our table wanted the sugar-free version of dessert, and we were brought a lovely plate of soy ice cream and chocolate brownies from the back

While the food was quite yummy,

the main event at the Crystal Palace is the characters

Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger circulate the restaurant for pictures and autographs.  It's a great way to visit characters without standing in line; >)  Between the good food and great character opportunity - not to mention excellent central location in the park - this restaurant gets VERY busy at meal times.  Be prepared to wait OR make your reservations for earlier or later than traditional meal times.

Chrystal Palace Delightful Dining11/11/2008 by Disney Diva Susan

The Crystal Palace was our first meal in Disney.  It was nice to see the Pooh Character's dance around the place with the kids and adults of all ages.  The wait staff was very helpful and even told us what were the best rides to go on at the start of the day, not to "waste a fast pass" .  We took his advice and got on Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and Pirates of the Carbiean without any waits at all!  We even did Thunder Mountain twice without wait times.  This allowed us to Fast Pass Space Mountain with little wait as well.  Thank you  for the helpful wait staff at this place.

THe food was also very good.  Make your own omlets and Disney Mouse Pancakes were enjoyed by all.  The kids especially liked being able to get as much as they wanted.  It was a great way to begin our first trip to the Magic Kingdom.

Pooh rocks!8/26/2007 by Lynn

The Crystal Palace is consistently good especially considering the amount of people that they serve throughout the day.  We‘ve had breakfast and lunch there and thought the food and surroundings were great!

A sentimental favorite

Best Way to Start the Day!7/4/2007 by Kate
I had never eaten at the Crystal Palace before within my 20+ trips to WDW, so I decided to try it for breakfast. I was very impressed with everything! To my surprise the all characters made time to take photos with my family.  My grandmother, who is not particularly a buffet fan, really enjoyed the food too. We loved it so much that every time we go to the Magic Kingdom we eat breakfast at the Crystal Palace. Just one last tip- make reservations for the time the park opens (if the Magic Kingdom opens at 9:00, make reservations for 9:00). You are seated right when you arrive at the restaurant and when you finish breakfast, there are still short lines for most attractions. Read reviews by this author

A Great Place in Magic Kingdom6/2/2007 by Kristin

The food was great, certainly not the traditional food at buffets.  Very tasty though.  They had different things to eat but also had a few regular things for those people who don‘t feel comfortable trying new things.  Pooh and all his friends came by which was nice.  Outside waiting area was very crowded.  I suggest having reservations.  We had reservations for 9:30 at night and it was still very crowded.  Many people who were trying to just "walk in" probably never got seated.

The atmosphere is very noisy with a lot of kids around.  Every now and then Pooh and Tigger skip around to songs.  Our waitress was very very nice and attentive to our needs for never-ending lemonade.  This is also a Disney dining plan option but be sure to make reservations ahead of time as it is a very popular place to  eat being right on Main street.  If you eat here during the fireworks you can see them too.

Very good!9/8/2006 by L P
We had breakfast and dinner here.
We found the dinner to be good. There were lots of choices. My hubby loved the Prime Rib. It was a little under-cooked for his liking, so the CM put it on a grill for a minute. He said it was awesome.
We really loved the breakfast here. The food and choices were great. The Puffed French Toast is amazing! The orange juice was also great!
We were a table of eight, loved that they had round tables so we could visit. The character interaction was good, though keep in mind that this is a huge restaurant, so it takes a few minutes for them to do their rounds!Read reviews by this author

Better than I expected!6/16/2006 by Ser Alan
We recently paid a visit to the Crystal Palace and were all pleasantly surprised Personally I'm not a big fan of buffets so I'm always a bit skeptical when I enter a room with a long table full of food!  The Crystal Palace was a very pleasant surprise; they provided many vegetarian alternatives which made several of our group very happy. Personally I found some Thai Curry Chicken that was absolutely delicious so I just kept going back for more of that. The salads were fresh and other dishes were quite tasty too, I definitely give this the thumbs up as a Magic Kingdom dining option.  The only reason I give it a 4 instead of 5 is that the ambience is not great unless you just really love to float on a sea of sound and chaos Read reviews by this author

Crystal Palace5/20/2006 by Tricia

This restaurant has an excellent selection of foods.  It is a wonderful buffet, all you can eat, and the Winnie the Pooh characters will visit you at your table during the meal.  This is a great, sit-down meal.

Crystal Palace
8/26/2005 by Clara Fuller
This was my very first character dining experience and has continued to be a favorite every time I return to WDW. Priority seating is a priority - you could wait forever just walking up especially in busier times. We have done breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and found that a late lunch is the best for us. The price is less expensive than dinner and the food selection is basically the same. We have always enjoyed the interaction with characters with or without children. If your child or you likes the Pooh cast, then this is the place for you!Read reviews by this author

Wow!
5/9/2004 by Julie
We ate at numerous character meals on our Oct 2003 trip and Crystal Palace was far and away the best. The food at dinner was extremely good (for buffet, that is) and the character interaction was outstanding. The salads and shrimp were our favorites. We liked it so much we went back again for lunch a few days later. The food wasnt as good-- no shrimp and few salads, but still much better than Chef Mickeys. Our next trip will include two dinners here.Read reviews by this author

The Crystal Palace breakfast
12/26/2003 by Lori Lofgren
We have eaten there for breakfast, first seating, twice. We LOVE it! The food is wonderful, staff is attentive and just what you would expect from WDW, and we plan to go back for my nieces 2nd birthday in April. Although, each time we went it was Pooh, not Piglet, that didnt come to the table. Pooh was at the buffet for photos. I dont think anyone who gives it a try will be disappointed.Read reviews by this author

Great breakfast!
11/22/2003 by Babs
11/03 - We had a character breakfast here and we loved it. This may very well be the largest breakfast buffet at Disney. We preferred this over Cinderellas breakfast at the castle. Piglet is the only character who does not visit the tables, but hes always available to photos, autographs & hugs near the buffet. Read reviews by this author

Crystal Palace Birthdays
4/1/2003 by Lisa
Definately be sure to mention if you (or a member of your group) will be celebrating a birthday at the time you make your priority seating arrangements.

My daughter will be turning five while we visit in May and the gentleman on the telephone made a point of asking how old my daughter will be on the morning we eat at the Crystal Palace and exactly how she spells he name. He told me that shell be receiving extra special magic treatment at our Character Breakfast complete with a cupcake (breakfast cupcake? Of course! It IS the Magic Kingdom!)and a personalized and signed card for her. One of the characters is supposed to deliver her cupcake and card. This will be her first taste ; ) of WDW and the Magic Kingdom. Its always special, but they have made plans all day to make it extra special. And all of it was just because I asked. No special packages or charges---just because they want her to never forget her day. Read reviews by this author

Crystal Palace
3/29/2003 by Carol
Weve had great meals a the Palace!

Breakfast is really nice and a huge buffet.

We love lunch since you can get salad and tuna, fruit as well as salmon, beef and usually a few pasta and rice dishes. my husband loves the dessert bar and usually grabs some chicken, hot dogs and mac and cheese from the kids buffet.

Weve had a birthday dinner there complete with ribbons, balloons and pixie dust! Just tell them its the occasion and I got a birthday card signed by pooh and tigger!

We always visit the Palace sometimes for more than 1 meal and have never been disappointed by food or selections. Enjoy! Read reviews by this author
