OLP Review:

The Rainforest Cafe, located in the heart of Downtown Disney is a "hopping place" for more reasons than the tree frogs you'll find everywhere; >)

The line waiting to get a table is easily 2 hours long most evenings.  And there seem to be alot of 'locals' with a membership that gets them priority seating.  So, be prepared to wait if you want to eat in the "Rain Forest".  However, IF you can find a table in the bar area there is no wait at all.  And, luckily, that's just what we did:)

Here's a glimpse of the menu.

We started with the Chimichangas (like them:)

and the Pita Quesadillas which looked better than they tasted (dry and lacking flavor, imho)

For an entree, we chose the Pasta option.

The total cost of the meal (with iced tea) came to about $60.00.  And what you are paying for is ambiance.  If you can get a seat in the bar area and bypass the wait -- and you love Chimichangas -- it might be worth it; >)

Pretty good, Jambalaya is quite tasty!

We recently made our first visit (for dinner) to the DL Rainforest.  After waiting 10 minutes we were told that the wait was 1:45.  So, we promptly walked into the bar area and found an empty table (we got lucky!).  Noise was a bit intense but hey, we got served right away and could still catch a whiff of the famous thunderstorm.   I'm used to the WDW RFC's and this one seemed a bit smaller to me.  I did like the pyramid theming though.  And I found my new fave RFC dish, Jambalaya was very tasty.

Mainly I mark it down to 3 for extreme noise and excessive waiting and it took quite a while to get our food after ordering.  This is definitely something to experience if you've never been to a Rainforest Cafe before, the ambience is unique.  You will definitely want to hit this place on an off day (not Saturday like we did!) and maybe an off-time as well because it gets jammed.  Either that - or be prepared for a very very long wai
Great Place for Families

We traveled with a group of 11 of us to Disneyland this year and ate at a variety of places but for one special meal we all wanted to be together and chose Rainforest Cafe.  I had made reservations for 11 of us in advance and we were seated right away with no problems.  Our server was Enrique and he was excellent, he even took the time to take a family picture of us.  I ordered the nachos which is actually an appetizer and it would of been enough to feed all of us!  I left over half of it and believe me, I can do damage on a meal.  The kids all had hamburgers which they made look like cobras, kind of cool.  The guys all had a seafood appetizer, there was no wanting for food here very very generous portions.  We had to order the Volcano.  When you order this dessert they brink it out yelling "VOLCANO"  it was supposed to be enough to feed four people but it was enough to feed all 11 of us after a big meal.  Everyone got a ta
