Chef Mickey's Character Buffet, located in the Comtemporary Resort
is a "must do" for many Disney World vistors. Mickey welcomes everyone to his buffet (served daily for breakfast and dinner)
While the buffet isn't known to set a gourmet standard, it can be counted upon to serve plenty for all kinds of palates
The Jerk Chicken was particularly tasty, imho
and, of course, children have a special selection.
There is also a carving station with Roast Beef and Turkey
and the "famous" Parmesan Mashed Potatoes (YUM!)
But the real reason to come to Chef Mickey's is for the characters... Some of them are straight from Disney...
and some of them look alot like OLP Reviewers; >)
The meal is right around $25 per adult and includes beverage as well as dessert. The review team says, "Go prepared to have fun!
and your experience will be Great!

We went to Chef Mickey's for breakfast but mostly for my 3 year old nephew to meet the characters. ALl he wanted to do was have breakfast with Pluto and that he did. The food was ok but the character interaction was absolutely wonderful. We were very impressed with how they would give each table enough time to interact with the kids. Give autographs, take pictures and a hug or two. I was extremely impressed with the characters here and it was worth every penny.
Chef Mickey's is a must do every trip we take to Disney as a family. I just have to dine with Mickey, Minnie, and his friends. I love the whole theme of the restaurant. The decor is so cute. I love the music, (it can be rather loud and busy in this restaurant, so if that's really not your cup of tea... you may want to skip it. However, I feel you'll be missing out on a great experience) the dancing, and the laughs you share with the characters. Let's not forget the food. Yummy! The prime rib and mashed potatos are so good. Save room for dessert, there's plenty of delicious treats to pick from.
I went with my husband and four girls to Chef Mickey's around six months ago and it wasn't all that great. We arrived 30 minutes prior to our breakfast reservation (we were staying at The Grand Floridian) and had to wait approx. an hour and ten minutes to be seated. Once there the characters didn't arrive until almost half an hour in, the waffles were a bit cold and the scrambled eggs tasted a bit weird. My girls went giddy when they say Minnie Mouse and seeing their face light up was amazing really, once the characters came they were so excited that they barely ate (they each had a bit of scrambled eggs, one mickey waffle and fruit) they just nibbled the waffle and that was it. My husband had biscuits waffles and bacon and I had oatmeal and some fruit..the oatmeal was bland but after I added some sweetener and raisins it was a tad better. Overall the food really isn't that great but it's worth seeing the kids light up so
My daughter is turning 6 this week & we are celebrating it n Disney. I read that Chef Mickey was a great place 2 do that for kids. It was ok, but she had a blast. The service there was terrible. They were busy, but it shouldn't take away from your experience. I work in a restaurant & there are times that people are unhappy, but managers always go talk to them. I never seen a manager, even after I asked for 1. Overall, the food was great, but I wouldn't go there again
Come here almost everytime I go to WDW. Awesome place and strongly reccomend it to anyone!
Even before we were married, my wife and I would be sure to make Chef Mickey's a must do stop on our vacations. We had always done breakfast there until our last trip when I screwed up the days on out reservations. I scheduled 2 things at the same time and I went to the concierge desk to see what we can do to rearrange some of the reservations. The service that I got was beyond exeptional! They helped me get all of my dining in order not only for the days I messed up, but they reviewed the rest of my AR's to make sure I was set for the rest of my vacation. So, we had lunch at Chef Mickey's for the first time and it was such an amazing experience! The food is the same as other WDW buffets, but the Disney food is still steps above other theme parks. Chef Mickey's is such a great experience because of the atmosphere, music, characters, and most importantly, the Cast Members. They are the ones that make everything at Disney such a great experience. We can't wai
The food is great The room is all fun We come here every year.
The food was really good. We took both boys there for the b-day they loved it.
I love going to Chef Mickey‘s; it is a fun place to go and eat . I go there almost everytime i come to WDW . Which is almost every two years, if not every year.
We had lunch here. They offer lunch during Free Dining in August. We were not impressed. Our ADR was for 12:30, and they were late getting the food out. There was not much selection. It was ribs, salmon, chicken, potatoes, veggies, pasta, nuggets, cheese pizza and mac and cheese. Also salads and buns. The desserts were okay though, brownies, cheesecakes, and make your own sundaes, with plenty of toppings to choose from.
The service was not great either. Won‘t go again.
We LOVED Chef Mickey's! We had a late dinner here and it was worth the effort to come that far from our hotel! The food was super, the mash potatoes were out of this world. My kids said they wanted to eat there everyday! I dont have a sngle complaint about chef mickey's! The characters came to our table, one by one, the atmophere was fun and exciting for the kids too! Dessert, the little cheese cakes were perfection! I high recommend this place and next time we plan on doing breakfast and dinner here!
