Young couples in Love, Honeymooners, a 50th Wedding
Anniversary, for anyone in Love... Walt Disney World
can be a very romantic place! Many people think
of WDW as a vacation destination for kids - and
it is - but it is just as much a place for adults
to have fun AND romance! Romance can be defined
in so many ways, and what may be considered romantic
by one couple may not by another, of course. At
WDW there is romance hiding behind every corner,
and this article is going to help you find it!
Go on a fireworks cruise on the Seven Seas Lagoon
and cuddle under the stars while you watch the castle
change colors. If you're lucky, you'll even get
to watch the night light up with fireworks, and
- since you will get off the cruise at the Grand
Floridian - follow it by having a night cap at Mizners
Lounge while listening to the band play in the lobby.
Or you can go for a romantic stroll along the beach
into the Polynesian Resort grounds. The Polynesian
grounds at night are incredibly romantic, with all
the tiki torches lit. Lie on a hammock together
and gaze at the Castle form across the Lagoon. It
is pure Magic!
You can also take an Illuminations Cruise on Crescent
Lake by Epcot. Start the evening by having a romantic
dinner at World Showcase (Bistro de Paris.. San
Angel Inn - if you like Mexican it is very romantic!)
or have dinner on the Boardwalk at the Flying Fish
Cafe, where you will be served fine cuisine with
excellent service, in an enchanting atmosphere!
You can also have a romantic evening on the Boardwalk
without doing the Illuminations Cruise; have a nice
dinner, stroll the Boardwalk. It is so beautiful
lit by the moon shining on Crescent Lake. Stroll
hand in hand, check out the shows on the Boardwalk
(jugglers, magicians...etc), play a game and win
a stuffed animal for your sweetie, stop in Atlantic
Dance for a little dancing and a cocktail, or get
an ice cream cone form Sea Shore sweets! If you
walk around to the Beach Club, you can sit on the
beach and look across the lake to the Boardwalk;
this is very romantic!
Horse drawn carriage… at WDW? Yep, that’s right!
At Fort Wilderness and now at Port Orleans Riverside
also, you can go on a horse drawn carriage ride.
The Resorts at WDW can be very romantic themselves.
Sit a while in the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge
in front of the huge stone fireplace with a cup
of hot chocolate, or venture upstairs to one of
their hidden sofas by a private fireplace. At the
Grand Floridian there is something so whimsical
and elegant about being in their “Grand” lobby late
at night while the band plays. A nightcap at Martha’s
Vineyard at the Beach Club, or the Ale & Compass
lounge at the Yacht Club can be a cozy end to your
evening. At Coronado Springs Resort, stroll around
Lake Dorado with the pyramid centerpiece lighting
the night sky….
How about a couple’s massage? You can experience
sheer heaven together at the Grand Floridian Spa
or the Spa at the Disney Institute. Have a bottle
of champagne and Strawberries delivered to your
room from room service. If you are staying at a
Resort that does not offer room service, it's still
available.. call the WDW Florist, and they will
be able to arrange it for you! (407) 827-3505
Go for a late night soak in the hot tub at your
Call WDW Florist and have a lovely basket (candy..
fruit... flowers...etc) sent to your room as a surprise!
For the ultimate romantic dining experience, make
a reservation at Victoria & Albert’s. This restaurant
is located at the Grand Floridian Resort. A 5 -7
course menu, prices start at $80 per person, and
you can add-on wine pairing for an additional $35
per person. Yes it is expensive, but for a special
occasion it is incredibly romantic, and a memory
will be created that will last a lifetime! You’ll
be served on fine china with a “Victoria & Albert”
pair providing the most excellent service, along
with outstanding cuisine, and an atmosphere of quiet
elegance. All that and a Harpist playing gracefully
while you dine!
Dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table, located in Cinderella
Castle at Magic kingdom, is "magically and medievally"
romantic. If you are celebrating your Honeymoon
or a special occasion, be sure to tell them at the
podium! Romance can be as simple as strolling around
Epcot’s World Showcase, or a ferry ride across the
Romance is everywhere at WDW, even in the Magic
Kingdom! Go on the Carousel together, or get an
ice-cream cone and sit by Ariel’s grotto and just
take in the sights of the land that is a Fantasy!
In the evening watch the Fireworks above Cinderella
Castle explode into the sky, creating an amazing
site. Don’t forget to keep your eyes open for Tinkerbell
flying from the top of the Castle, right before
the fireworks begin! Tinkerbell always spread extra
pixie dust on sweethearts; >)
These are just a sampling of romantic possibilities.
There are so many romantic things to do and experience
at WDW! If you are ready to celebrate your Honeymoon,
Anniversary, or just being in Love, there is no
better place to do so than in the magic of the "World"!
