Restaurants : Floor Plan : Pictures : Video

Just a lazy ride up the Sassagoula River from Downtown Disney is one of the most intimate resorts on property, Port Orleans - French Quarter. Themed to the French Quarter of New Orleans, the Port Orleans - French Quarter resort celebrates the Mardi Gras life of “letting the good times roll” with upbeat music and colorful decorations. Themed in wrought iron fences and cobblestone pathways with gas lighting, the Port Orleans - French Quarter resort is cozy in size and romantic by design. Bus transportation to all parks leaves from the front of Port Orleans - French Quarter before picking folks up from the several Port Orleans - French Quarter Riverside stops, a plus in crowded months when buses fill quickly. The boat ride down the Sassagoula River to Downtown Disney is an attraction in itself. Amenities include:

  1. Access to all of sister resort, Dixie Landings, offerings which include themed pool, food court, and full service restaurant just by taking a beautiful 10 minute stroll by the Sassagoula River
  2. Surrey bike as well as two-wheel bike rental
  3. Recreational boat rental
  4. Themed pool with dragon slide and hot tub
  5. Live jazz music on weekends in the Scat Cat’s Lounge
  6. Jogging path

Being of the moderate flavor resort group, Port Orleans - French Quarter has rooms that are moderate in size, 314 sq ft, and queen beds, sleeping four people. There are a few king sized bed in corner rooms which are slightly larger and have an extra window. Three types of rooms, standard (parking lot view), garden (courtyard view), or water (either pool or Sassagoula River view) are available. A limited pizza room service is available. There is a playground and small arcade for children.

Honey moon stay 2011 on 11/16/2013 by Alyssa

This was my first experience staying at a Disney resort and I don't think we could have picked a better place than pofq. We stayed in a king bed room on the third level that over looked the river. It was absolutely beautiful! We loved the whole feel of the resort. The cobblestone roads and the music in the background was the perfect way to round out the New Orleans ambiance. Not to mention to awesome and convenient the boat rides to downtown Disney are. It was such a great experience and I look forward to the next time we can stay at POFQ.

Port Orleans French Quarter on 3/29/2013 by Christee Thomas

The best little moderate resort around.  I love this place.  It's not spread out like the other resorts.  It's quaint and quiet.  The setting along the river is romantic.  This resort is the perfect size.  It has a smaller than normal moderate size food court, but it has some fantastic choices, like beignets, yum!

You can take a short walk over to the Port Orleans Riverside and you can use the pool over there, this is a rare perk but since they are sister resorts, it's a nice perk to have.

There is also boat transportation to Downtown Disney.  It's a nice ride with beautiful scenery.

I hope you will try this resort out.  It sometimes gets lost behind the popular Caribbean Beach and the Port Orleans Riverside, but it's a gem that deserves a chance.

Holiday Trip on 1/7/2012 by Mary

This is the first time we stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter and we loved it. The grounds are beautiful and the resort was quiet. We had river view rooms and you could not beat the view. I wish we were closer to the food and laundry. Next time I'll requests that. The food was the best we'd had at any Disney Resort. It beat Animal Kingdom Lodge hands down. Excellent fried chicken you could cut with a plastic knife. The staff were wonderful. We will definitely stay there again and I've never stayed at a Disney Resort more than once.

We stayed at French quarters because of all the good reviews. We were not disappointed. French quarters is awesome. We will be coming back. One of the reasons we stayed there was the small size of the resort. We were close to everything. We have an 8 year old sign and after a long day at the resorts he didnt want to walk far. This resort was perfect. I am very picky when it comes to hotel rooms and the room was very clean and housekeeping did a great job of keeping it clean while we were there. The food and pool were great. My son wants to go back just for the pool.

RECENT STAY on 7/7/2011 by carol davis

We just returned last week from 7 days and 6 nights at the Port Orleans French Quarter and stayed in one of their newly remodeled rooms! We went with our daughter and her family who had an adjoining room with 2 queen sized beds and we had a king.  The decor is wonderful, clean and well kept! We had a fabulous time there; loved the Food Court; the boat ride to Downtown Disney; the atmosphere at the resort is so New Orleans! Loved, loved, loved this place.  We have stayed at Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, Riverside and now French Quarter, and while we loved Riverside, our new favorite for awhile will definitely be French Quarter! Your family will love the atmosphere and the things to do at the resort while enjoying great food!

POFQ on 1/1/2010 by Jcmhutch

We stayed at POFQ in March 2009 and loved it. The location was fantastic, pool was great and we loved the lightl music in the lounge/bar area. We also had a great corner room with a view of the Sassagoula River. The atmosphere was really nice - the streets with sidewalks, gaslamps, horse drawrn carriage rides and the courtyard fountains really reminded me of New Orleans. The walk along the river to Riverside for dinner at Boatwrights was quiet and enjoyable after a busy day at the parks. We will definitely stay there again!

Port Orleans French Quarter on 8/10/2008 by JerseyDeb

After many years of trips to the Deluxes.. I tried Port Orleans French Quarter on a dare from friends..

It's been 3 years and I've never looked back!

I love everything about the resort, especially the small size, the easy access to cabs, bus and boat transportation, I love the begniets and the muffaletta, so bad, but soooo good! I like the gentle jazz background music and the friendly Cast Members.

I think if they had proper room service, I'd never leave!

POFQ, what's not to love on 1/8/2007 by skipperkim

I've stayed at French Quarter twice now, and love it. The grounds are gorgeous. The staff is wonderful. I love the beignets at the food court, the only place at Disneyworld you can find them. But the best thing about this resort has to be it's own bus stop at MK in the evening.

DISAPPOINTED WITH FRENCH QUARTERS on 11/15/2005 by MICHELLE DONNENBERG

STAYED FOR 7 DAYS.  THE ROOM WAS DIRTY.  WE COMPLAINED 3 TIMES BEFORE  THE BATHROOM WAS CLEANED FROM THE PRIOR GUESTS.  VERY DISAPPOINTING.  IN ADDITION, THE DINING AREA WAS NOT VERY EXCITING.  WE HAVE EATEN IN VARIOUS OTHER DISNEY HOTEL EATERYS, AND FOUND THIS ONE THE LEAST ENJOYABLE.
