Enjoy magic from dawn to dusk at the only campground at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Make yourself at home in an air-conditioned cabin, or stay in our newly rehabbed "Big-Rig Friendly" campsites. Hike winding paths, explore nature trails on horseback and have the time of your life in the great outdoors with our seemingly endless recreation opportunities.

Nestled in a serene forest, Disney’s Wilderness Cabins offer a quaint, relaxing escape in surroundings that capture the timeless beauty of pioneer days. And for a real back-to-nature experience, new "Big-Rig Friendly" campsites are available for travel trailers, motor homes and tents.

For folks who love nature and the spacious convenience of a full kitchen and living area, The Ft Wilderness Cabins offer the opportunity to blend the serenity of a Florida forest with the excitement of Disney magic. Transportation is easiest if you have a car (there is a parking space for one car by each cabin). Otherwise, it is a bus from various points amongst the cabins to either the boat to Magic Kingdom or another bus stop for buses to the rest of the World. Golf carts are available for rental to get around the grounds. Set in a “world apart” this home away from home resort has its own range of “countrified” amusements including:

  1. An evening campfire with a marshmallow (bring your own marshmallows or cash to buy them) roast, sing-a-long, visit from Chip n Dale, and movie under the stars
  2. Picnic pavilion
  3. Hayrides
  4. Hoop De Doo Revue Dinner Show that books a year in advance so get your tickets early:)
  5. Mickey's Backyard BBQ - Seasonal
  6. Horse Stables where horses are available for riding, visiting and Horse-drawn carriage rides
  7. 2 Pools - One located near campground and a 2nd pool near the cabins area (Child wading pool)
  8. Children's playground and Arcade
  9. Archery
  10. Segways Adventure
  11. Bike rental for exploring the area and a Marina/boat rental
  12. Waggin' Trails Dog Park
  13. Trails End Buffeteria serving three meals of all you can eat Country cookin’
  14. Trading Post for basic food essentials and other shopping needs

Each cabin has a fully stocked kitchen, an eating area, living room with a Murphy bed, one bathroom, and a bedroom with either a double and bunk beds or one double bed. The cabins are in a ‘gated’ community. Daily housekeeping service is included. Outside each cabin is a picnic table and charcoal grill. Remember to bring a flashlight ; >)

Best place on Disney on 6/19/2012 by Disney fanatic

The campgrounds at Disney are amazing. I loved the nightly campfires with marshmallow roasting and the Disney classics they play. Every thing is within walking distance, they have buses to take you to Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios, and a ferry ride for Magic Kingdom. The best parts are the petting zoo and the trails end tavern. I don't know it they still do it, but they used to have a boat parade at night on the water, with the boats all l lit up with lights. All in all, very family oriented and a great place to stay.

Best place ever on 3/12/2012 by Kylee

Riding around in the golf cart is so much fun! Staying here was a great experience and anyone who has stayed here would think so too! My favorite part is around Christmas time, everyone brings a ton of decorations and lights at put them outside their cabin or trailer! It's beautiful and the Magic Kingdom is only a boat ride away! The beach is beautiful too looking out on Bay lake!

We have been to Disney more than 20 times stayed at a lot of resorts but the camp sites are the best. Stayed there in June of 2011 we used a friends camper because my mom said the camp sites was great and we loved them! Just bought a camper last week so we can take it when we go back June of this year!

Love! Love! Love! The cabins on 12/31/2011 by Tonya

I consider Ft. Wilderness/cabins my "home away from home"... I love the peaceful setting of the campground. I love having our own little 'home' at Disney. If you're thinking camping isn't for me... well, staying at the cabins is 'not' camping. Can we say full service mousekeeping? There's so much to do at Ft. Wilderness. Visit the horse barn, take a trail ride, rent a golf cart, a boat, a canoe... or just relax at the pool. Take in a dinner show at The Hoop Dee Doo or have a barbecue with Mickey. There's even a campfire with Chip and Dale and then end the night with a outside Disney movie. So much to do. I just love Ft. Wilderness!

Fort Wilderness Cabims on 12/22/2005 by W Von Kanel

We just returned from Fort Wilderness Cabins.  The cabins were absolutely wonderful.  They were very roomy and very clean.  Housekeeping came by everyday.  The transportation around the campground and from the campground to the parks was great.  We never waited over 10 minutes for a bus.  There was boat transportation to Magic Kingdom.  It took around 10 minutes to get to Magic Kingdom from the campground.  My only recommendation is to rent a golf cart.  It is very pricey but was worth every penny.  Getting around the campground would be more of a hassle without the golf cart.  If you decide not to rent a golf cart, there is a bus that runs every few minutes throughout the campground. The only hassle with that is that you take a campground bus to get to the main bus stop and then you get on another bus to the parks.  The campground was very quiet and very clean.  I would recommend the cabins to any family.  It beat staying in a hotel any day!!!!
